An Industry 4.0 Vinegar Works
September 2017 saw the opening of a new Industry 4.0 vinegar works for Varvello, a company from Piedmont that makes various types of vinegar for consumption all over the world. To be fully entitled to produce balsamic vinegar of Modena IGP, the Varvello company has invested in the building of a new factory in the province of Modena, entrusting the development of the whole plant to the Della Toffola Group.
The installation represents a perfect balance between traditional production methods, automation and innovation. The Della Toffola Group has taken care of everything, from the systems for receiving the incoming raw materials, the tanks for storing them, the mixing and processing systems, and all the valves and piping, as well as a special concentrator conceived specifically for high density and particularly fruity condiments.
All this was done by two companies in the Group: Sirio Aliberti provided the storage tanks, and Priamo Food Technologies took care of the factory design and provided all the processing machinery.
